Historia e gjatë dhe e pasur e London Metropolitan University fillon në vitin 1848. London Met ndodhet pikërisht në zemër të Londrës, një nga kryeqytetet më emocionuese dhe të larmishme në botë. Universiteti fokusohet në ofrimin e mësimdhënies të orientuar drejt karrierës. Sipas sondazhit Destination Leavers nga Higher Education 2017 rreth 97% e studentëve nga London Met ishin punësuar brenda 6 muajve nga diplomimi I tyre. Programet e intershipeve, përvoja në industri dhe mundësitë e punësimit gjatë kohës së studimit janë çelësi i suksesit të London Met. Disa nga arsyet e tjera përse studentët zgjedhin London Met janë facilitetet që u mundëson, të cilat përfshijne: Newsroom dhe TV studio, Art dhe Design Workshops si edhe laboratoret në fushën e shkencave kompjuterike ose design . London Metropolitan University ka 5 fakultete në të cilat zhvillohen programe bachelor dhe master. Ato përbëhen nga fakulteti i Arkitektures dhe Design, fakulteti i Business dhe Law, fakulteti i Computing dhe Digital Media, fakulteti i Shkencave Natyrore, fakulteti i Shkencave Sociale. Gjatë vitit 2019-2020 në universitet studionin mbi 9000 studentë me mbi 120 nacionalitete të ndryshme.
